The Comeback... Not Really Comeback

Hello Essences!

I am writing this blog to share with you these past few months of quietness but also to give myself permission to return to the world as Lindsay Essence.

Where to begin? How do I start?

I'll start with March 4, 2015 which was one of the hardest weeks of my life to date. That day I lost a dear friend of mine after having a great 8 year friendship with him. He was one of my co-workers at work. He was like another father figure to me. I would bring him key chains from my travels. He saw me graduate high school. Get married to one of my best friends. Worked with me through my pregnancy with my daughter. Saw me graduate college. Was there for me during a third of my life. The ups and downs, saw the raw me, and knew the real me.

It is said that if a friendship lasts 7 years then it will most likely stick for a lifetime. I had 8 years with him in this physical realm.

The last 18 months of his life his health started to fail. A few days before he passed I saw him. I actually saw him less than 24 hours before the heart attack that took his life from his body. I told him I loved him, gave him a hug, and rushed to do something at work at that moment. It was a Saturday when I saw him last.

That following Wednesday he was gone.

That is the beginning, the spark, the start of what had spiraled me into solitude and finding my inner strength.

I say spiraled because that is what happened. I spiraled bad. I suffer from bi-polar disorder, depression, anxiety, addiction and PTSD.

And with that when there are too many things going on; life, stress, work, school, etc. I can crack. At that point in my life that is what happened. I cracked and those who I trusted, I confided in; they didn't understand. I needed to step away from everything and everyone and go back to my core to become stable again.

I am no longer angry with those individuals. In all honesty I never was 100% honest with them about the dark side of having these disorders. Words were taken out of context, twisted into fear, and I was the black sheep to some. But I really don't need those people. I needed those who have stood by me when I have seriously wanted to kill myself and through my days when showering was all I could do. Not the ones who did not fully know what was going on.

Because the truth of the matter is I suffer from mental disorders that make it difficult to have an abundant of meaningful relationships in my life. And I especially need people who understand me when I have my "dark days" or "dark months." Those who can check in with me asking, "How is your self care today?"

I need those who understand that recovery from addiction is no laughing matter. That my life without getting loaded is worth more than to test your theory that years of not drinking or using makes me able to drink or use like a normal person.

And my cherry on top is I have most of March and April blacked out in my memory, which sucks balls. Yes sucks balls. But it is part of being me.

Which brings me to here today, a day in July, months after losing a connection with one of pillars of people who knew me on all sides of myself.

I got pulled into a world of competition, fear, and lies. I do not want to go back to that. I even walked away from my spirituality completely for a few weeks. (If you are intuitive you know that your guides will drive you crazy if you do that for too long).

I have decided to blog again, share my knowledge, connect with like minded people, and focus on my art and being of service.

And I needed to give me permission to allow myself to be me on these platforms again.

Retreat Within Before The Fire: Chapter of My Forest

Hello Beautiful Essences,

This is more of a chat than my traditional blog posts. It's a raw post. One of my most raw posts. There is no editing. No grammar check. No prompts. Just me having to get what is inside out through this keyboard.

These past few weeks I have done some mega essence searching inside. So this blog will be a song blog. The song is "Chapter of The Forest" by Trevor Hall.

Chapter of My Forest.....

"I greet my Lord by the river side, It hits me almost every time"

I don't know about you but I have fallen in love with Spirit again. It took me going back to one of my sacred places to remind myself of how much I love Spirit and how much it means to me. This past week I was at the same spot where I found out that one of my ancestors moved to the Spirit Realm. Hara hara Narmada.

"Beauty runs so deep, that it's hard to sleep at night. This is the chapter of the forest"

Being connected to this spot reminded me how massive and big Spirit is. How the Universe is massive and how connected I can be to that source if I choose to be. I sat on that porch at that spot in awe of the beauty of how one of the hardest deaths in my life was a turning point for me. Spirit heard my prayers and intentions loud and clear. They allowed him to pass quickly and not suffer too much in the end. Thanks Tribe. Hara hara Naramada.

"Every line, and every chorus. From my heart it comes a pouring."

Beautiful Essence. For me when Spirit enters my heart fully, without boundaries, I can not help but cry. They are so powerful and beautiful. My human body can not handle the beauty that enters my body. It is an experience where I think that my heart will rip out of my chest, in a good way. The flood gates open and the rain starts to come down my cheeks. Hara hara Naramada.

"Into every single melody. Flame without the smoke"

I am a Lightworker and as I grow older, the more I fight it. No more. Now is the time to put this into overdrive. Not only have I come out of the closet with my Spirituality. It's time to embrace this life in more aspects of my life. Be the flame without saying a word, just show it! Hara hara Naramada.

"Harness all the poetry. I swear I'll never choke."

My voice tends to be smashed and I lash out in anger. No more. It's time to embrace my throat charka and really work on how I communicate with the world. My daughter is able to convey what is going on with little to no words. The least I can do it harness my voice and actions to reflect what Spirit truly wants for me in this world. Hara hara Naramada.

"Because I only of Naramada. Hara hara everyday"

Because I am here by the stars being in line. Do you fully understand how so many things had to happen for you to be alive? Let alone living today to write this? You are YOUnique and truly a gift to this world. Hara hara Naramada

"No more books, no more empty words

No more running away from her

I now learn from the wind and rain

From the song of the lion's mane

And as it touches the sun and moon

I sit back and behold that tomb

I am reminded of that connection similar to Spirit when I was in high school. That balls to the walls, no boundaries, full release from all of this world. Just falling to my knees. Head to ground. Chanting to Spirit for the next move. Please show me my path. Hara hara Naramada. 

"Yeah, and in my dream I heard the lesson. Of the vault that holds the heavens in. Sow now I gaze upon the crowd, yeah."

Here you go Beautiful Essence. I heard your prayer. Now are you ready to follow it? Oh your in fear? Tell your Spiritual Tribe on Gaia and they will help you push through that fear. What is the worst that can happen Lindsay? You won't die. So why fear? Hara hara Naramada.

"You see my woman she is stainless. Stood her at the base. Touch the face, all the Gods come out the mountain. Sweet embrace."

Another wave of the love from Spirit spreading from my chest into the rest of my body. The flood gates are beyond open and now my head and heart are still. There are no words, no feelings, no images that can express this peace that is swept into my body. I am reminded that I am love, provided for, and never fail in my Spirit's eyes. Each "failure" I experience, Spirit will use that experience to better show how massive and powerful they are. Hara hara Naramada.

"You see her song it can't be heard. Unless you let go of the world. So I laid it all down. And I behold what I heard."

Less is more. More is less. That statement now has new meaning. It's time to release the past life that I lived this lifetime. Why carry around shit from years ago that doesn't even matter today? Why panic about every little thing, when all I have is just today? I can only chance my actions in this moment. Can not change the past. And choose the path for the future. So what is your choice Essence? Hara hara Naramada.

Of the glory of their name, it's name, his name, her name, on whosoever name. Hara hara hara! Now is the time to stand up with PURPOSE. Now is the time to RELEASE all the fear. Now is the time for CHANGE. Now is the time! Now is the Time. Now is The Time. Now Is The Time.  Hara hara hara Naramada.

"L" is for Love: Self-Love

Hello Beautiful Essences,

This week I wanted to talk about Self-Love and what that looks like for me today.

Self-Love for me is very beginning of the journey of becoming the person I want to be today. It is the place where I understand if I do not take care of myself (self-care) and I do not love myself (self-love) then I spin into a place of darkness and depression.

The reason why I brought up self-care with self-love is they are both linked together, however do not mean the same thing. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Self-Love is a form of Self-Care but not all Self-Care is Self-Love. For me this means that self-love can be affirmations of myself.

• **Lindsay you are beautiful** I sometimes struggle with this one today. 
• **Lindsay your stretch marks are beautiful** I birthed a child into this world. The stretch marks on my stomach are beautiful, regardless of what society says they are. I am a goddamn tiger and here me roar!
• **Lindsay you are worthy** I am worthy every day. I am worth the breath I inhale from the atmosphere. I am worthy to be in this world today

These affirmations can be both self-love and self-care. I am doing basic, "Let's change our thoughts, those thoughts will change my beliefs, those beliefs will change my actions."

Here are some actions for me is self-care: 

• brushing my teeth (be honest sometimes this is hard to do)
• putting on make-up (for me it's not necessary everyday to "doll up" but some days to get out of the house I need to)
• eating when I am hungry and stopping when I am full

Now don't get me the wrong way, these can be self-love because I am loving my body by taking care of it. 

So I hope you see how these two ideas can be lost and mixed up in my head. In turn this is what I do instead. I have a checklist of things that need to get done everyday. Here's the list for me & I encourage you to alter the list to your lifestyle: 

• shower 
• eat when hungry
• mediation (goal 15 minutes)
• do "Three Most Important Tasks" for my business 
• call a friend to say hi
• play with my Daughter
• kiss my husband 
• work if I work
• do three "Random Acts of Kindness" (this one can be hard some days)
• have an empty sink of dishes at the end of the day
• painting or any art things

More or less depending on the day's activities. Some days only one or two are done on this list. And the biggest form of Self-Love I can do for myself is remember this. I am only one person and if something does not get done today it is not the end of the world! There's always tomorrow and so that thing I missed today goes on the top of the list tomorrow. 

Self-Love and Self-Care has taught me that I am a mother to a 19 month old daughter. I am a wife. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am an employee. I am a co-worker. I work four amazing jobs (don't worry one is my business and one is a few days a month). I have more roles that I juggle through the day. And you know what? I am who I am and nothing more or less. And taking care of myself is sooooo important.

Journaling: Visual Verbal Journal

Journaling is a topic that is near and dear to me. When I was in high school my art teacher introduced me to the practice of Visual Verbal Journals. This practice has changed my life since.

What is a Visual Verbal Journal?

Glad you asked. It is just like it sounds. It is a journal that uses words and visuals to convey a topic or an idea in your head. The beauty of this type of journaling is there is no judgement. I mean that. No judgement. Just like a diary, the only judge is yourself.

I tried and tried to take photos to convey Visual Verbal Journals to you. None of the photos were able to truly show what I could in a video. So here is my video of Visual Verbal Journals for you guys :)

"I" is for Incense: Intentioned Prayer and Meditation

Incense as I know it is an essential in my pagan practice. I use it as a form of prayer and meditation to the gods and goddesses.

The best part about it: it smells so good!

What is Incense?

They come in many smells from the popular Dragon's Blood to Baking Brownies (Wildberry Incense). There are many different brands you can choose from to buy incense from. You can make your own! The possibilities are endless of the possible scents you can have of incense.

The most recongizable brand is Wildberry Incense. They are sold all over the place. The most recent spot I found this brand that made me giggle was a shop called Five Below. You can do your shopping for that teenage niece of yours and pick up some incense for your pagan practice, all in one place!

I'm serious if you want a great laugh, over the next year see how many places you can find that sells incense. It's a running laundry list that makes me giggle in the checkout line when no one is looking.

Anyways for me Wildberry was a great starting place for my incense practice. It was not expensive and I could buy in bulk for cheap. At the local metaphysical store in my area they have a serious selection. I asked the owners and they said that Incense is one of their top selling items in the store, hints the hundreds of incense scents to choose from.

I moved onto Nag Champa and honestly this is the one constant in my incense practice. It is light and firm and I love the smell. The beauty of having an incense practice is A) overall they are cheap, so if you find one you do not like it's not a big deal and B) once you find one you like, stick to it! and buy in bulk.

I live with a family member who is sensitive to incense, so to be respectful I get creative with where and when I burn incense. I mostly do it outside on my back porch. I have a travel altar with an incense burner with it. So sometimes I burn one in the parking deck at my university. (Don't worry, Believe it or not I've never been asked by Campus Police if I was smoking anything illegal and burning incense to cover it up) Lol.

My Incense Practice: A Quick Summary

As I light a stick I put Reiki energy and an intent into the incense. This morning's intent was health (I am battling horrible allergies that resulted in bronchitis and upper respiratory infection). Prosperity and abundance for not just me, but an universal blanket intent. I am a firm believer that our thoughts create our reality, and this is most powerful way I can spread this intent into the world.

As the smoke rises into the sky I visualize my intent being spread throughout the world. Some days I travel in my mind's eye all around the world. Other days I sit there in silent meditation or listen to a guided meditation.

Today I journaled as the smoke rose into the universe. After the stick is gone (25-45 minutes depends on the brand, length, quality, etc.) I resume with my day. Some times I start the stick and walk away and let the universe do it's magick (WARNING: if you leave an incense stick alone and not properly make sure that it WILL NOT CATCH ANYTHING ON FIRE, and it does. You can not sue me for mentioning that I sometimes do that. Cause there is always a chance of catching something on fire.)

What Happens During a Psychic Reading?

Hello Lovely Essences!

I wanted to answer one of your most popular questions: "What happens during a psychic reading?"

This is such a great question and I am going to try and answer this the best way I can.

Before going into what happens during a reading, here is my understanding of what a psychic reading is. I have always understood that prayer is talking to Spirit and mediation is listening to Spirit. I see readings as a combination of the two. More mediation than prayer, but still a combination of the two.

As for me, I offer different communication methods for readings. I offer over the phone, skype, recorded videos, in person, and email. Each communication method is different, however the way the reading is conducted is pretty much the same no matter what.

What I do for a reading is start off my calling in sacred space, calling in all of my and who ever I am reading for angels, guides, and guardians to be present for the reading. Also to bring forth the highest good.

Current Email Options from Lindsay 

Reason for mentioning this critical point is, hate to break it to you Essence; some psychics out there who are not ethical and do not take into account the highest good for all. When you choose a psychic to get a reading from, do your research! Here are some quick how to's on picking a psychic to choose from:

• If they read at a shop in the local area, they had to "audition" for the job. I would trust that the store wouldn't hire just anyone to be a reader at the store.
• This is the same for psychic hotlines, there was a process to receiving the jig, the line would not hire just anyone to do the job.
• Check out their websites, check out if they invest in themselves with certifications, do you resonate with the energy they give off their site?
• Check out their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Blog, etc. Do you like the message they convey? 

There is no way for me to tell you which person is right for you, but just like with every other major purchase in my life: It's all about Research and Background information!

After calling in Sacred Space, I look at the divination tools I have and see which one "pops" out. Now this is where each intuitive person is different. I use tarot and oracle decks, crystals, pendulum, and pen/paper as some of my divination tools. I have had a reading done just by ribbons!  Also there are psychics that do not use divination tools, they channel the information from Spirit for you. It just depends on who is doing the reading for you.
